The role 💼

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing team and help shape the future of Waitwhile. Working closely with our CTO and other engineers, you'll build scalable, high-impact features that directly improve our platform and user experience. We build our service using Typescript/Javascript, NodeJS, Firebase, Firestore, BigQuery, Angular/React and Linux on Google Cloud Platform.

We're open to different backgrounds, whether you're a fullstack developer with a passion for backend, or a dedicated backend engineer, we’d love to hear from you. What matters most is your drive, problem-solving acumen, and ambition to level up your skills while building something that truly makes a difference.

What you’ll do 🚀

• Build new platform features such as smart queuing, appointment scheduling, and customer journey automation. 
• Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability across our stack
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to ship high-quality features quickly
• Troubleshoot and solve complex technical challenges in production
• Drive improvements to engineering best practices, tooling, and code quality

What you have 🙌

• 5+ years of experience building web applications
• Solid programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Node.js, Python, Go, Rust, or Java
• Experience working with cloud platforms
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and system design
• Great communication skills, comfortable explaining complex concepts to cross-functional teams
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Bonus if you have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Previously worked at a startup or on a SaaS product
• Exposure to Firebase, Firestore, BigQuery, Angular/React, or Node.js
