Data Analyst
You're joining Waitwhile at the beginning of our journey. As one of our first team members, you'll have a huge impact on the company, culture and product - and you'll get to learn a ton and have fun.
The Opportunity 💙
Waitwhile works to eliminate the 1 trillion hours that people spend waiting in lines every year. Our platform is trusted by over 10,000 companies worldwide and has helped more than 250 million people enjoy a radically better waiting experience at places like IKEA, Chanel, Costco, Google, and more.
We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our mission to eliminate waiting. Joining a small but growing team, you’ll play a large role and have an impact on how we build an even more amazing product. You’ll work collaboratively with our Head of Data and stakeholders across the Waitwhile team to deliver actionable insights, build reports and dashboards, and uncover opportunities to improve how we operate and serve our customers. You’ll bring clarity to complex data, ensuring that decisions are grounded in facts and analytics.
As a Data Analyst, you would design and lay the foundation for reporting processes such as:
- Standardized company-wide KPI dashboards to track revenue, retention, adoption, and operational health.
- Product usage reporting frameworks that measure feature adoption, customer engagement, and funnel performance.
- Customer success dashboards to monitor account health, renewal risk, and support ticket trends.
- Alerting systems for anomalies or threshold breaches (e.g., churn spikes, traffic drops, pipeline issues).
- Data quality and governance reports that ensure consistent metric definitions and reliable source data.
- Experimentation tracking templates to analyze A/B tests and quantify the impact of product changes.
- We build our analytics suite around BigQuery and work with an engineering team developing in Typescript/JavaScript. While not required, some programming languages (Python, R, JavaScript) are highly valued.
What You’ll Be Doing 🚀
- Partner with Product, Customer Success, and Leadership teams to define metrics and track performance against goals.
- Build dashboards, visualizations, and automated alerts using tools like Looker Studio, BigQuery, Sheets, and more to support self-service analytics for internal stakeholders.
- Analyze customer behavior and product usage to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Design and run ad hoc analyses to answer high-priority business questions.
- Ensure data quality and consistency by contributing to data definitions, validation, and documentation.
- Collaborate with Engineering to improve data pipelines and availability.
- Present findings and recommendations in a clear, compelling way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What Skills You Need🙌
- 2–4 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role in a SaaS or technology environment.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets (preferably in BigQuery or similar).
- Strong skills in data visualization and dashboarding (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel) for analysis and reporting.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear data questions and actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Bonus Skills & Attributes:
- Familiarity with statistical methods and machine learning
- Knowledge of Python or R for deeper analysis.
- Experience supporting Customer Success or Product Analytics teams.
